Week Twenty-Two 26 miles!
Emily and I are all bundled up to protect against the cold. I'm actually glad to have my jacket on at this point in the day. |
We're happy to have Pam and Dan with us to bring us water, though. (Bailey, lacking thumbs, is not as much of a help.) |
Emily and I find the "Difficult Run" sign so hysterically funny we have to stop and pose with it. Meanwhile, the stampede of runners is preparing to charge over the bridge and wipe us out. (By this point I've taken off my jacket and left it at a water stop. It's so nice and warm, right?) |
Julie wisely waits until we're heading back before she posts with "Difficult Run", since by now the chance of getting trampled is much lower. |
I blow kisses to my adoring fans on I-495 (the Capitol Beltway). By this point it's gotten a little colder and I've decided to snag my jacket back and tie it around my waist. |
Ok, clearly Stephanie and I thought it would look like we were running in this picture, but it's pretty clear we're not. But we're still moving, and haven't entertained thoughts of leaping into the river to float back to home base. |
The finish line! I've made it! (And it's gotten so darn cold that the jacket came back on. Brrrr.) |
If I was Yael, I don't know if I'd be willing to hug Julie after that run. She's far braver than I. |
We made it! We're all done!
...what do you mean, we have to do it again in three weeks?!? |
