Week Twenty-Two 24 miles!, page 2 of 2
The best thing about the 26-mile run (ok, 24-mile run for me) is that we go far enough to get to our favorite spot on the trail... Difficult Run. |
Heading back through Vienna, we bid farewell to the train mural that we pass on all of our really long runs. The W&OD Trail is built along the route of an old train line, so it's a very appropriate choice of image. (Yes, the sky really was that blue!) |
Ouch. A picture of where the back of my knee was getting rubbed raw from my knee brace. For the marathon I will be bringing some BodyGlide with me so I can keep that from happening again. |
We hit the final water stop with just over 3 miles to go! (Why do I always squint when my picture is taken? *sigh*) |
Waiting for us at the finish line was this fantastic balloon arch to run through. |
Steve, Britt, Julie, and I show off our medals for completing the final long run of the AIDS Marathon program for 2002. Victory! |
My snazzy new medal. |
