Chasing the Sunrise

Average pace: 9:25 min/mile
Total Miles For August: 68 miles

The plan was to skip Capitol Hill and run all the way down to the Lincoln Memorial (aka the old route) to try and catch the sunrise, but alas we got there before the sun peeked over the Washington Monument’s hill. Ah well!

One-Run Week

Location: National Mall, Capitol Hill
Distance: 7.4 miles
Average pace: 9:55 min/mile
Total Miles For August: 61 miles

Had a badly-timed minor problem on Monday morning and had to miss out on that run, and this Saturday’s run is scratched in advance due to a vacation. I’m pretending that I’ll run on Friday morning but the reality is that this will almost certainly be a one-run week.

Also, the new tank top officially cannot be worn without using NipGuards (rather than just BodyGlide). I think it’s because it’s too large (knew I should’ve bought the small) and so it just shifts around too much, doubly so because it’s only worn on really hot mornings which means I’m sweating even more than normal. Ah well.

Slightly Breezy

Start time: 8/12/2015, 5:41 am

Average pace: 9:43 min/mile

After Monday’s rain, it was SUCH a relief to run outside again. Hurrah!

Treadmill, Yuck

Total Miles For August: 37 miles

It was pouring rain when I got up to meet my running group, so ended up heading to the gym to run there. Of course as soon as I arrived it stopped, but I was unsure that it would stay stopped. Turns out it did, naturally. Oh, how I hate the treadmill.

Heya Lincoln

Feeling a little zippy this morning. Maybe because we skipped Capitol Hill and ran down to Lincoln instead?

Back to Back

Ran again on Monday after a Sunday run. I normally try to space runs out but so far so good. Clearly not an issue the way it used to be!

Cool Autumn Morning Run in July

Start time: 7/22/2015, 5:39 am
Location: National Mall, Capitol Hill
Distance: 7.25 miles
Average pace: 9:11 min/mile
Total Miles For July: 63 miles
Total Miles For 2015: 449 miles
Current Shoes: 122 miles

I hadn’t meant to take off a week from running, but various issues kept me from running as planned on Saturday and then Monday. On the bright side, coming back this morning was a glorious experience. Almost no humidity and about 70 degrees. After temperatures the past few days being in the high 90s with a heat index even higher due to humidity, this break is fantastic. Just John and me this morning, but we definitely made the most of our good conditions!

Cooler?

Start time: 7/16/2015, 5:39 am

Distance: 7.26 miles
Average pace: 9:33 min/mile
Total Miles For July: 56 miles
Total Miles For 2015: 442 miles
Current Shoes: 115 miles

After the scorcher of the previous day’s afternoon run, being out before 6am was a pleasant temperature change, that’s for certain.

After switching last week to Mon/Wed, this week was back (temporarily) to Tue/Thu since Steve was out of town and it worked better for Ben and John and I. (Although no John this morning.)
