A rare Sunday run, since we switched so Stephanie could be present for one of her favorite routes: the 10-mile loop that runs through the National Zoo. We unfortunately dropped from 5 to 3 people during the run, but it all ended well.

Another brisk brisk morning. Ran the first few with Ben and Armand, then Ben veered off and Armand and I finished it off. Three layers were required again, but it worked perfectly; not cold, but also not too warm. That said, I’d be happier if for the race in two weeks if the starting time temperature was 40 degrees instead of 20 degrees. Just saying.

Brisk, beautiful morning, hovering around 40 degrees. Ben, Stephanie, and Stephanie’s-sister’s-boyfriend Arman joined me for a good paced run up and through the Zoo. Even with a 12-min mile due to an extended “I can’t eat these Sports Beans very fast because they have frozen” food break, a good pace. Pretty perfect experience. (Save for having no Steve or Ben!)

Most of the group had a 20-miler on their agenda for this Saturday, but Ben and I joined them halfway into the run. It was nice; Steve’s niece Stephanie joined us and it was her furthest distance and then some. Some faltered a bit towards the end, and I knew it’d be a slow run because they’d already packed on 10 miles before I arrived, but all in all it was a nice time.
